FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What do I wear?
Wear the same clothes you would wear to a regular yoga or fitness class. If it’s warm and you want a tan, you can wear your bathing suit. If its cold, you can always rent a wetsuit. Dont forget your sunscreen!

Will I fall in?
The bay is very calm and flat and we use wide, stable boards that make SUP easy for beginners! There is a chance you could fall in, but you will not be in the water constantly.

Where do you meet?

Before starting the class, you must check in at OEX and sign a waiver. Please try and be at least 15 minutes early. In the summer and on weekends the parking can fill up very quickly and you may have to park and walk.

Can I walk in the day of the lesson and book?
We ask that you book your class as early in advance as possible, with at least 24 hours notice. It is very important for us to maintain a safe instructor to student ratio for water safety, so if we have a large group we need to bring in another instructor or lifeguard.

What kind of payment do you accept?
We accept checks, Discover, Visa , Mastercard, American Express, and cash.

Can I take a yoga or fitness class my first time paddling?
You must take a beginner lesson or have prior paddling experience before attempting SUP Fitness or SUP Yoga. We paddle in our classes (sprints in SUP fitness) and it is very important to learn the proper technique before developing poor habits, which may cause soreness or injury over time.

Are the fitness and yoga classes going to be really hard? Do I need to be an expert to perform the poses on the board?
Not at all! We offer modifications for everything, and it’s really about being outdoors and having fun!! We recommend trying Nautical Flow first, which moves at a more gentle pace.
